With an extensive amount of street credibility, an illustrious and raw talent, a hard-
working demeanor, and a suave southern persona that captures any music fanatic,
C.Stone The Breadwinner truly exhibits the characteristics of a
superstar rap artist, entrepreneur and an emerging entertainment mogul of this
generation. C.Stone is the youngest of three and was born into a military family in
Wurzburg Germany to Tressa Stone and the late great Willie Jay Stone Sr.
With his family roots being spread between Baton Rouge, Louisiana and Orange, Texas , it
would be Killeen and eventually Houston , Tx that would be considered home. As a child
C.Stone was considered the “shy” and softspoken child of the bunch, but he was never a lazy
child. Often he was praised for his maturity and early showings of his hustle and ambition.
Rapping, Writing, producing music and films, event promotions, designing custom jewelry,
acting, and successfully running his company Bread Winner Music & Marketing are some of his
most extensive duties to date. Entertainment is far from an unfamiliar part of his upbringing.
Music and entertainment ultimately embedded themselves into C. Stone's life once he began to
take notice of his brother's major talents. Willie “Jay” Stone Jr. is very well-known for his claim
to fame as a child R&B star who wowed television audiences worldwide with 4 trips and 3 wins
at the iconic Showtime at the Apollo theatre in Harlem, Ny. C’s Older brother Jay would fine the
big stage again when he was invited to sing the national anthem for Major League Baseball’s
Houston Astros at Houston’s Minute Maid Park.
With a diverse range of multiple projects in the works; C.Stone continues to prove that his career
is on a constant incline.
Before C.Stone “The Breadwinner” was born, “Chris” Stone’s primary focus was on football,
track & field, his grades, and of course getting to the money without ever working a 9-5 job as he
cut yards, and sold everything from downloaded song lyrics to removable gold teeth aka Grillz
and eventually his mixtapes. As a two sport all district selection for his entire high school career,
In football he was highly recruited by Division 1 football programs and a 2 time JR Olympian, 8
time district medalist in Track & Field. C.Stone began to utilize his seemingly rare spare time in
an impromptu studio that he created from various stereo equipment, including a 5-disc CD
player, a pioneer turn table, an old reel to reel and a karaoke machine equipped with a tape deck.
Shortly thereafter, an “all freestyle” cd that was initially done for fun and intended to be played
only in the locker room, leaked into the hands of multiple teammates who would then
unintentionally assist in creating a buzz. From there, C.Stone began to develop a small fan base
that gradually increased.
C.Stone slowly established a notable name for himself in the entire greater Central Texas area,
but more prominently in his homebase of Killeen, Tx.
During his sophomore year at Shoemaker High School, he had now molded himself into a
Varsity Letterman, DJ, event promoter, and Gold Grillz-Smith. With a rapidly growing
popularity stamped by his back-to-back unanimous homecoming court/king elections he hosted
numerous sold-out teen parties which he would gain a lot of praise for giving the local teens a
safe place to hang out on weekends. Musically , he wrote songs for Jay Stone, recorded mixtapes
with his friends, and learned to make beats. However, the sudden death of his father in the early
2000’s was a major tragedy at the climax of his emerging academic, athletic, and entertainment
career. Ultimately, C. Stone harnessed these emotions and
used them as a motivation to propel his career to a higher level. In his senior year , during a
preseason scrimmage after already scoring four touchdowns on the day, it would be an 80 yard
touchdown run where he would suffer a near season ending injury. His broken wrist led to the
withdrawal of scholarship offers from most Division 1 programs including his favorite, Texas
A&M.
C.Stone would bravely return with only 5 games left in the season to play with a full arm cast as
his only hopes of earning a full ride. Upon his graduation from high school, C. Stone
successfully obtained a four-year football scholarship to Abilene Christian University to play for
Coach Garry Gaines , the famed head coach & subject of the hit feature film “Friday Night
Lights” . After completing one semester at Abilene Christian University, while still grieving the
untimely loss of his father, he decided that he would be better suited attending a university that
was closer to family in order to have his best shot at success and making good on his promise of
graduating. Still a student-athlete, he knew sooner or later he would also have to move his
business ventures into a bigger city in order to gain maximum networking exposure. In the spring
semester of 2006, he transferred to Prairie View A&M , a Historically Black College about 40
miles north of Houston.
Now, feeling much more comfortable and “at home” while attending school alongside his
brother Jay , Sister Julia, best friends Courtney “Duce” Mitchell, and Dustin “D.Will” Williams
to name a few it wouldn’t be long before his impact would be felt both in the locker room and all
around campus. “Stone was one of my favorite players on the field and is one of my favorite
people off the field” said former head coach Henry Frazier III. Prior to graduation, he continued
to play football at PVAMU, however music and entertainment shortly became his sport of
choice.
Over the next few years, C. Stone continued to build up his company as well as establish himself
in the Houston area. He executive produced Jay Stone’s debut album “impatiently waiting”
which would go on to sell thousands of records independently and receive a nomination at the
Southern Entertainment Awards. He used his experience, 2nd to none marketing abilities, as
well as his enormous Gold Grillz sales history as his go-to negotiating tools with the notable
jewelry and grill-maker Johnny Dang a.k.a. TV Johnny.
C.Stone would start out doing street promotions eventually working his way up to the 2nd in
command alongside Johnny. He’d also play a major role in the grand opening of the flagship
stores, Johnny Dang & Co. Custom Jewelry in the Galleria area and Sharpstown malls in
Houston, Tx. In spring 2009 C.Stone graduated with a degree in business management and in
criminal justice. After fulfilling the promise of getting his degree made to his mother Tressa
Stone and late father Willie J. Stone Sr, his career reached a much higher peak. It Was C.Stone’s
very first solo interview on 97.9 the box where he invited his partners in shine Johnny , & Paul
Wall to support him and be present during his first major radio interview. Not only was it this
particular interview when the legendary Madd Hatta coined the trio “The Diamond Boyz” but his
ability to articulate and engage with the disc jockeys ultimately landed him a solo interview as an
unsigned artist on the world-renowned Breakfast Club Morning Show power 105 in New York
City.
His launching of his own Lifetime Member clothing line, newfound interest in acting, film
production and writing books continue to motivate him to advance each project to the next level.
So much that he invested in the creation of Breadwinner Films helping to fulfil the dream of his
longtime friend and former high school teammate Dustin “D.Will” Williams. C.Stone has also
displayed his acting skills starring
in three Johnny Dang & Co. Television Commercials, Mr. Boomtown’s “Candy”, and two of
Tubi’s top streaming indie films “candy 2” as “cowboy” and a strong cameo in the Joseph
Elmore Film “Gudda”. C.Stone’s first self-produced feature film is currently in the
writing stage. C.Stone wrote, and performed on “Stay Iced Up” the second single from multi-
platinum recording
artist Paul Wall’s album “Heart Of A Champion” the single went on to get national airplay as
well as
“New Joint Of The Day” on 106th & Park and MTV Jamz “Jam Of The Week”.
In 2017 C.Stone released a highly streamed group album with Paul Wall called “Diamond Boyz”
and has made appearances on National
Geographic, HBO , Showtime Boxing , Premiere Boxing Champions, The Grammy Red Carpet ,
BET Awards and many more high profile events and award shows.
C. Stone exhibits the true qualities and background of a tycoon in the making. He has the
experience to back up his
specializations, he displays a true businessman mentality, and he continues to speak the truth in
his music and every other platform he touches. C.Stone’s appearances to every major music
award show from the Grammy’s to MTV’s Video Music Awards ultimately motivate him to
change the atmosphere of the southern hip-hop culture as well as the new era of music moguls
especially in the great state of Texas.
On August 26th 2016 C.Stone was recognized by the Mayor of Houston and P.A.P Foundation
by being honored with a
certificate officially proclaiming August 26th as "C.Stone Day" In The City Of Houston, Tx for
his philanthropic acts. Every year on this day, C.Stone and his Breadwinner Big Brothers
organization hosts a back-to-school community event with the goal of motivating and preparing
area students to have a successful school year. C.Stone has also received the Commanders Coin
of excellence from the mayor of Killeen, Tx.
After the untimely deaths of several close friends & family members along with the pandemic
and other trials and tribulations, C.Stone reached a level of mental and emotional instability
causing an abrupt halt to all business & social media activities. Now, an advocate for Mental
Health awareness C.Stone The Breadwinner is officially “Back Active” like the title of his 2021
album title. After reaching so many highs and experiencing so many lows, C.Stone is still here
showing that even after a battle with his own mental & emotional health issues , you can take the
time needed to press reset and get back active when you feel you are personally ready for
everything that the world has to offer!
